Mindful Mommy

Having a kid is a big lifetime change. The daily routine used to be soo much different before. Many things have changed and I tried listing some below. I bet any parent could relate with these definitely!

  1. Trying to reach for keys in my bag/purse and I pull out some baby toys, hair clips or may be a diaper out of the bag
  2. Going just to the grocery store which is in the next lane feels like it’s a mini vacation (a kid free vacation!)
  3. I stay up very late in the night every day and the immediate morning I say to myself that I shouldn’t repeat it.
  4. I find myself humming the tunes of my kiddo's fav cartoon programs.
  5. I daily wonder how much space my kiddo can take on my king size bed and push me and my hubby to one corner of the bed
  6. I held my pee or sat in an uncomfortable position because my baby fell asleep on me. And I wouldn’t dare any chance waking her up.
  7. I spring up and run only to say the person at the door not to ring the doorbell as my kiddo is sleeping.
  8. That winning the world feeling I get when I chop my Lil one's nails successfully when she is sleeping.
  9. I wake up many times in the night to check if the baby is covered properly.
  10. The sight of a single mosquito around my kid would get a protective hunter out of me and I jump around her with mosquito bat to kill the entire clan of that mosquito.

That feeling when your baby dozes off on you!!

I can feel that tiny lil heart beating on my chest and her soft breaths whispering in and out.
After all that one whole hour of rocking and singing lullabies when my little one dozes on me it’s a great relief I tell you.
Putting a child to sleep and just walking away is easier said than done. The moment I try putting her down to go have my dinner in peace or to have a quick shower, she opens her eyes wide open to check on me and
I see her little hands gripping my finger tightly, she then snuggles back in my arms.
I get back to rocking and singing again and this plays on a repeat till I doze off too :)
My daughter keeps me nice and warm when snoozing in my arms.
No matter how tired I am, I can't help but stop and stare at my sleeping baby.
it’s pretty awesome!
Me enjoying motherhood....
Here below is my lil one while sleeping.....

A working mama in Deloitte

Divine experience of my natural delivery

Here is the beautiful story of my first labour and delivery in my own words
It was Jan 21st midnight when I first felt my contractions, sometimes they would get regular and I would start to get my hopes up.
My hubby was not around to keep an eye on me. Unfortunately, his close friend met with a major accident and he had to be in hospital for support.

During that night I was timing my contractions and could see they are becoming more regular and I know it is the time. I didn’t delay anymore and called up my husband to come back home.

I was getting uncomfortable with contractions and we started to hospital in the morning of Jan 22nd.
In no time I was in the car with my bags packed heading to hospital with my husband. My pains started getting worse and we had to pause many times in between the journey to hospital. I was squishing my husband's hands for every painful contraction .

After reaching hospital I was moved to the labour room and then suddenly my water broke. What a feeling it was :) Now I know for sure baby is gonna come out.
I was in real labour and couldn’t walk with the pain anymore. I was in operation theatre with my husband next to me. I progressed very soon and they hooked up a belly monitor to check my baby's heart rate.

I was slipped into a patient's gown and a lot of what happened next is kind of a blur , I was dealing with each contraction one by one . They were getting worse and the pain was soo much as if all my muscles in my uterus would just rip into two .

I was on operation bed with my legs apart and ready to deliver. The doc told me to push with my next contractions. And that contraction took forever to come. When it did, I tried to push, push harder, harder enough to expel the baby.

My husband was supporting me throughout. He was in pain too. And one last push that I know could rip my muscles apart and yes the baby is finally out.it was soo wonderful and I could feel the baby's little fingers coming out. It was like nothing I ever thought it would be.

The baby's heart rate decelerated and docs were moving furiously to make sure baby is good.

Nobody bothered to tell me the gender of my baby.
I was asking my husband who is it ? a girl or a boy ?and now I know it’s a baby girl:)

Doc wiped the baby and wrapped her in a baby pink swaddle and brought the baby to show me.

That sight is soo divine and I couldn’t stop staring at that cute lil one.

I planted a kiss on her forehead and it missed and landed on her lil eyes.
The bundle of joy is in my hands. She was soo warm and she looked absolutely beautiful , she was perfect.

Time flew soo fast and now she is 10 months old :) My lil baby doll is named Sanvi :)
